This is What I do on My Spare Time!

Allow me to introduce, the two most adorable little models in the world-- Meli and Jazi.  My niece and her best friend.  This was us playing grown up dress up, courtesy of aunties closet.  They picked a few pieces and took turns wearing it rocking it.  WE HAD A BLAST!

Then we picked something from her own closet, and funked it up with a cool hair-do and some accessories.  The last outfit (not pictured), turned the photo-shoot into a gymnastic party.  Meli has been in gymnastic for the past year or so, and she just loves showing me all the tricks she can do.  As a former cheerleader and PROUD auntie, I love pushing her to her limits and teaching her new tricks.  We've master front & back walkover and she is only 5.

Yes, I'm that kinda of the cool auntie!  I'm a not-soon-to-be mommy in training.  For some reason I'm fairly certain Maurice Junior will come first, so I'll have to do my homework on how to get down and dirty with the boys.  I can also just watch learn from dad, he's been roughing me up for a while :-) and I always tell him he needs him a son!  I must tell you, it has payed off (and all our friends pressuring talking sense to him about kids), we now have a date for when we will get off the pill and start trying.

I can't wait to take weekly pictures, and plan a co-ed baby shower, decorate the nursery, the delivery,  bringing him home, a year of firsts... and the list continues.  I'm sooooo ready!!!!!!

Back to the Mirror

I tried taking my pics using the tripod I used too with my other cam, but it didn't turn out so well (i'm almost certain it was the poor lighting)... I'll be trying it with tomorrow's outfit outside.  Crossing my fingers it will work out better or else, BACK TO THE MIRROR.  Anyways, this is what I wore to go out for drinks with a  few of our friends!!

1st in Months...

I was ready to start snapping pics of my outfits again and then the inevitable happened... our better cam stopped working.  Now story behind it is that we dropped it from a ride at the fair,  blahhhhh.  So the pic quality is prob going to suck for a while but i'll do my best to keep up.

Rainy Day & Meal Planning

Off with the snow, on with the rain... I don't know which one I hate dislike more.  I could say it's a love-hate relationship... I just hate having to leave and get soaked, but at the same time i love wearing my rain boots.(seriously, how cute are they???)  I seem to have this kind of relationship with all seasons.  I can't wait until the snow stops falling, but I miss wearing boots.  I can't wait 'til sumer is here, but I'll wine about being sweaty...  I like to think my favorite season is summer, but as of last summer (being that I didn't really go much to the pool/tanned) I think i like it now (Spring in Nebraska).  It's hot some days, but nice and cool on others.
On another note, I decided to take meal planning serious and will be doing it from now on.  One day in and I've decided that I will be planning a weeks worth and shopping for it, but I won't be assigning the days in which I'll be making a certain meal because that is just what works for us.  The hubby is always having team dinners or bringing dinner home so I just cook around that.  For instance, last night we just had stuff he brought home from a bbq, but today I cooked what was for Monday.  I'm planning to post it here the menu and some of the dishes but I'll see how it goes first, maybe I'll start next week :-)

Friday Sucked but Life Goes On...

How was everyone's weekend?  I wish I could say mine was wonderful, given that I had so much fun at the football game on Saturday night, but I kind of had a crappy start of the weekend, and I spent my Sunday studying for a History test blah blah blah... It's was reeeeeeally windy here In the Midwest Friday and I was on my way back from the grocery store... Going off an overpass, a wind gusts hit the back of my car and it made me spin around , threw me over the median and hit the rail on the opposite side I was going... Ended up thrashing the whole front of the car.  I guess the motor moved back three inches.. Fortunately and with GOD's grace i'm okay, only neck is bothering me.  Now, off to car shopping again... I must say, GOD is good and know why he does things... We didn't have to get the new car a couple of weeks ago, but for some reason we did.. and what you know, if it wasn't for that we would just be stranded and out of luck left to spend more money that we have renting a car while car shopping... So even though it still suck that the car is totaled I still praise the lord that he always provides and  never puts us in a situation we can't handle.

On to my outfit...I been wanting to show this skirt off because it was a great find, but I haven't worn heels to work because i'm afraid I won't be able to handle it, so for a rule breaking Monday I decide to go for it (with flats) even though it made me look short and stout :-)

From Work to the Gym

You know how my week has been really busy and hectic?? Well, this is the kind of outfit you wear when you plan on working out after work and have no time to waste on changing or else you won't be able to finish your workout in time to go to the next commitment (in my case a speaker).  All I had to do and take the jacket off and put some tennis shoes on.  I had to make sure and sit away from everyone thou... I'd be mortified if they smell my sweat :-{ on another note, i'm so skipping a speaker right now, thank GOD is not mandatory. It's pouring outside and all I wanted to do is snuggle and watch tv :-)

Boots Yet Again :-)

Is it Friday yet?  It has been such a long week for me :-(  waking up earlier than usual, back to working out, and doing things off my regular routine has really taken a toll on me.  I can't wait for Friday afternoon, so I can just relax and not have to worry about waking up to deal with school.  How is your week so far?

100th post!! YAY!!!

To celebrate my 100th post, I decided to get funky (mix them up that is) with the picture border.  I also couldn't really decide which one I liked better, so here is all of them (which do you like?).  I usually don't have time to do different trials, so I just go by my mood for the day, since this was an important occasion, I decided to put a little more time into the formating :-)  I loved how girly and versatile this outfit is.  Just from switching shoes, I went from dressy to casual :-) not to mention the possibilities with leggings vs. tights or different cardi vs. no cardi adding jewlery, no belt... haha I think you get it, so I'll stop he ramblings :-)

Outfit and a Bit of Randomness

I have a feeling that the season for boots is coming to an end and I hate that I'm loving it.  I'm a winter baby (on the american eyes that is) but I'm definitely a summer girl.  I love snuggling with the hubbie, but I'd rather be hot than cold any day.

Thought I'd share this pic because it comes with a random thought..

I have a thing for teenage drama.. I watch just about every sitcom and reality shows there is... ABCfamily is my favorite channel on Monday nights-- Secret Life, Make it or Break, Pretty Little Liars (can't wait for the next season)... then oxygen with All About Aubrey (my new favorite).. Teen Mom, Jersey Shore, Dancing with the Starts, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Holly's World, StoriTelling Wedding, Khloe and Lammar ( which premiers this Sunday but I already know I'm gonna love it, b/c she's my favorite from the Kardashian's sister), Bethanny, all Real Housewifes.. back to sitcom, The Game, Let's Stay Together, Perfect Couples, Off The Map, Body of Proof, Desperate Housewives, Breakout King, Nikita and the list goes on... OMGsh I think I have a little bit of an addiction problem with TV.

PS: really please ignore the box.. it's been sitting in the living room for a couple of weeks now and it's driving me crazy.  It's holding our Honda Civic media console replacement (which was stolen from our car this past summer) that we just recently found on Ebay.  The hubby has been so busy and haven't gotten a chance to get to it, but I'll sure be glad when it's sitting nice and pretty on the deck of the car, specially because it's starting to get hot and the AC button (which they ripped out also) will be much needed in this weather.

Turquoise Me Tuesday

Don't ask me about the title, I don't really have an explanation..It just sounded good...  I think it would have been more appropriate if I had worn turquoise head to toe, but the hints of it counts right?

Deaf, Blind and Mute

I'm so not a Photoshop expert but I do like to mess around (when I have time that is).  It's nothing out of the ordinary, but I thought it looked cool.  I would love to become an expert though... I'd love to have time also :-) I'd love to have time to do a lot of things, like working out (but that is another post to come)...

Is that Considered Boho??

Not that I purposely went for  boho, but that is the style that comes to mind when I see a headband worn like that (and the side purse and the pendant necklace and the gladiator sandals).  I really don't have one specific style (wouldn't you say so??), I love experimenting with different shapes and color.  I go for what I think is cute, not necessarily what looks good on me but I like to try and be as versatile as possible..

I haven't been having time to put a lot of thought into my outfits, so I'll prob slow down a bit, but school will be out in no time and i'll be back in action... I'll try to post as often as possible, but if I go MIA like the last few days week you'll know why :-)

Day Numero Cinco & Last (but of Course not Least)

Turns out I have more stripes than I thought.  YaY!!! for stripes!!!!

Today was my first day of work and I couldn't be happier.  After almost eight months without working, and a semester outside of the classroom being around kids was so much fun.  Soooo for details about my new job...  I'll be spending my afternoon with elementary age children at our local YMCA after school program called Fun Club.  Now onto looking for a morning job :-) .  Why, you ask?   Well, we just got a new car!!!  This week has been a blessing (besides the concussion that is).  We've been looking for a while, and me getting my job was just the icing on the cake and what made us speed up the process.

Wearing it on My Sleeves

Today was very uneventful day but I do have more good news!!!  On Monday's game the hubby too a pretty hard shot to the head which lead to him having a concussion.  He decided not to tell anyone he was seeing double at the game and continued to play.  He slept the whole ride (which his teammates teased him after because it was so loud), really unusual for him and not recommended if you just had a concussion.  Anyways, we slept and rested pretty much all day Tuesday, and his only symptoms were a mild headache and nausea, which we usually justify it with post game fatigue.  On Wednesday however, he woke up dizzy, with a worse headache and we notice a popped blood vessel on his left eye, besides him being forgetful.

He still went in to work, but left early to go see a doctor.  Since his symptoms were a bit delayed, being that the injury was on Monday the doctor prescribed a CAT scan to make sure there wasn't any bleeding in his cuca (word in my dictionary for brain/head).  We tried to get the CAT scan done yesterday but it wasn't possible, so we went in today.  I was super worried but thank GOD everything came clear and he'll be able to go back to his normal routine on Monday. Unfortunately that means he won't be playing this Sunday, but I'm glad he gets to rest it, rather than ignore it and have a more severe injury.

Warning!! Horrible Pictures Ahead...

This is what pictures look like with no light!!  I apologize for even posting them but I didn't want to not post.  I didn't do anything until the evening and didn't think about just getting dress early to take pictures while there was still light outside.
I also loved this outfit and couldn't wait to share... good or bad, you can still see it!!  I actually got my inspiration from one of the participants of the stripe challenge, except that if I recall correctly she wore navy instead of red, but I loved the yellow necklace, so that's what I did :-)

Hidden Vertical Stripes

If you click on the picture you'll be able to see (vaguely) the vertical stripes right, but please trust me they are there...  It's almost like a pleat.  There are a few on each side of the buttons.  But remember here when I said I had good news but not quite ready to share?  Well I am now!!!  GOD is so awesome and works in mysterious ways.  At the time of that post, I was actually talking about a job interview (more like foreshadowing getting that job) that I was going to have the following morning... I ended up not getting it; but just last Thursday I had another interview (this time on something that is actually on my area) and ... {insert a cheery cheesiest voice} I was offered the position!!!!  I'm so excited to start, and I'm glad I'm on my spring break and have plenty of time to fill out all paper work.  Since right now I'm still in the process of background check, orientation, and all that fun stuff, I'll old off details of what I'll be doing--just know I'm super dooper excited to start and it will be something right up my ally.
